Location and surroundings

Our pub is an ideal start and end point for excursions into the countryside for hikers, cyclists, or walkers, whether you are here for the day or a longer stay. Stunning scenery and local events attract visitors to our beautiful region all year round.

Visitor Book

The Inn and the valley are special to many people, for a wide range of reasons. Why not share your story below.......

What we offer

The Inn is a great place to visit, whatever the weather. We have a lovely cosy log burner for chilly days, as well as a large beer garden - perfect when the sun is shining! Relax with some local beers and watch the garden birds as they visit our feeders, or try one of our range of home made meals, with locally sourced ingredients.

Our Suppliers

Whenever possible, we buy our ingredients locally and cook our dishes on the premises. We regularly change our menu to reflect seasonal availabilty, and try to cater for all tastes and appetites. Our guest ales are Cumbrian made, and we change them often, so there's always something new to try!

We are open all year round, from 11am to 11pm. Food is served daily from 12 noon to 9pm. Our service hours change a little during the festive period - updates will appear here and on our facebook page.

We would advise that you book a table for Saturday evenings and Sunday lunchtimes, especially if you are a large group! Please let us know of any special dietary requirements and we will do our best to help.
